Binzhou Medical University established the professional education of stomatology in 1987. It is the first provincial higher medical school to offer stomatology education in Shandong Province. The program of stomatology is now a national, provincial specialty and provincial first-level undergraduate program. In 2015, School of Stomatology established the program of dental technology. The school currently has 794 full-time undergraduate students and 88 postgraduates, 92 full-time teachers, 257 part-time teachers, 2 doctoral supervisors, 61 master supervisors, 1 stomatology teaching instructor of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Education, and 1 academician of the International College of Dentists. The school has 14 teaching and research sections, 1 stomatology experimental teaching center, and 1 stomatology research institute. The school has rich practical teaching resources. The specialized teaching hospitals include 3 directly affiliated hospitals (Binzhou Affiliated Hospital of BMU, Yantai Affiliated Hospital of BMU and Yantai Stomatological Hospital), 2 non-directly affiliated dental specialist hospitals (Jinan Stomatological Hospital and Weihai Stomatological Hospital), 2 non-directly affiliated general hospitals (Linyi City People's Hospital and Binzhou City People's Hospital).
In January 2016, School of Stomatology signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the School of Stomatology, Peking University to further strengthen the construction of the faculty, improve the quality of dentistry personnel training, and effectively promote the development of teaching, scientific research and medical treatment.
For more than 30 years, School of Stomatologyhas always adheres to the school-running tradition of education-oriented, moral education first, teaching first, quality first, and has gradually become a higher stomatology talents training base and medical service institution that combines teaching, scientific research and medical treatment.
School of Stomatology pays attention to the construction of teaching style and study style, continuously strengthens the cultural construction and puts moral education in the first place. Through the serialization and hierarchization of quality education activities, the school improves the comprehensive quality of its students. All of our faculty members are dedicated to their jobs, rigorous in academic research, exquisite in business, and exemplary, and actively carry out teaching and scientific research.
