Recently, the final rounds of the 2022 Mandarin Speech Context Among International Students in Shandong Province were held online and successfully came to a close. A total of 25 universities in Shandong province have submitted videos covering topics such as excellent traditional Chinese culture, Qilu culture, Yellow River culture etc. to the competition organizer. Our school actively organized international students to participate in the competition as well. In the end, two international students won the Second Prize, and two of their instructors won the Excellent Instructor Award.
After evaluation by the organizing committee, AHIAFOR MAXWELL, a Ghanaian student from the 2018 Spring batch, and BILAL AHMAD, a Pakistani student from the 2018 Autumn batch, have qualified for the finals. In the finals, they showcased the traditional Chinese cultural talents such as calligraphy and Tai Chi, telling stories in fluent Mandarin. Their performances impressed the judges greatly and won very good scores.
This competition is hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and the Shandong Provincial Language and Text Work Committee, and organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of the Provincial Department of Education, the Office of the Provincial Language and Text Work Committee, and Shandong Education Television Station.
