From July 8 to 11, the national “Teacher Training Class for Standardized Training of Oral Resident Doctors (2021 Yantai Session)” was successfully held on Yantai campus of Binzhou Medical University (BMU). Vice President Sun Xiangjun delivered a speech. Zhang Kuiyang, Member of CPC Committee of Yantai Municipal Health Committee, and relevant people in charge from School of Stomatology and from Yantai Stomatological Hospital of BMU attended the opening ceremony.
In his speech, President Sun Xiangjun extended a warm welcome to the experts. He pointed out that this training class had built a broad platform for learning and exchanges for residential training teachers, so that more teachers can learn the most advanced standardized training base construction and teaching experience for dental resident doctors in China. He hoped that all the participating teachers could make good use this opportunity to earnestly study and apply it to actual teaching, effectively improve the quality of standardized training and clinical teaching for dental residents, and cultivate high-quality qualified personnel for the development of dental medicine.
This expert lecturer group consisted of Professor Liu Hongwei, Deputy Secretary-General of Chinese Stomatological Association, Professor Pan Shaoxia from School of Stomatology of Peking University, Professor Yong Wei from School of Stomatology of Peking University, and Professor Xue Yang of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University.
In the academic lecture session, the four professors respectively shared their experiences and opinions, combining teaching experience and actual cases, covering the application and construction of the oral resident doctor training base, the clinical teaching points of intraoral suture, and the logical thinking training of the residents. The clinical teachers participating in the training conducted lively discussions and in-depth exchanges.
In the chair-side commenting on teaching plan of training and teaching experience exchange session, outstanding dental professional resident doctor training lecturers from Dalian, Changsha, Tianjin, Liaocheng and other parts of the country shared with other experts and trainees on train teaching plans, teaching experience, typical practices and problems encountered.
This training class also set up practical operation links. Participating trainees performed the preparation of the anterior teeth under the microscope, the preparation of the anterior metal crowns under the magnifying glass, the pulping of the molars, and the suture, etc. under the guidance of the experts one by one on the spot.
This training course was sponsored by the Chinese Stomatological Association and the Stomatologist Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, co-organized by the Oral Medicine Education Committee of Shandong Stomatological Association and School of Stomatology of BMU, and undertaken by Yantai Stomatological Hospital of BMU. It is an in-depth implementation of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and President Xi Jinping's practical measures to deepen medical counterpart assistance, aiming to train qualified residents for medical institutions at all levels to have good professional ethics, solid theoretical foundations, clinical skills, and independently undertake, through standardized dentist training, diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently-occurring diseases in this specialty.
Nearly 150 dental resident doctors and teachers from all over the country participated in the training.
