Hu Xuemei, PhD, Professor
Prof. Hu enjoys the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. She is Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Shandong, Outstanding Graduate Instructor of Shandong Province, Outstanding Teacher of Undergraduate Programs in Shandong Universities, Female Workers' Model of Making Contributions of Shandong Province Educational Labour Union, Head of Provincial Key Discipline of Immunology and Yantai Double Hundred Talent Plan high-end second level innovative talent.
Teaching Experiences
Prof. Hu, a model of virtue, has been imparting knowledge and educating students. She has actively undertaken and successfully completed the teaching tasks of immunology for graduate students, undergraduates and international students, which are praised by peer experts and previous students. And her teaching evaluation results are excellent every year. In the past five year, she has published one teaching research paper, which won the first prize of Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award of Yantai in 2017. She has written two national textbooks and/or books.
Taking advantage of the scientific research, Prof. Hu has been making great efforts in improving the quality of postgraduate training. In the past five years, she has trained one full-time doctoral student and 14 postgraduates, among whom eight have successfully graduated, and five postgraduates have been recommended for doctoral students of famous universities in China without examination.
Scientific Research
Since 2003, Prof. Hu has been taking the lead in exploring the “molecular mechanism of the abnormal pregnant outcome induced by Toxoplasma gondii infection” at home and abroad, and have opened up a new field of Toxoplasma gondii infection in international reproductive immunology. She has published more than 60 academic papers in important academic journals at home and abroad including 30 SCI papers. Her research results have been widely recognized and highly concerned by domestic and foreign counterparts. In 2019, Hu was invited to give two lectures at the 17th International Congress of Immunology. In the past five years, she has presided over three general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two of which have been successfully completed and one of which is under research, and published 14 SCI papers.
Recognition and Awards
In the past five years, Hu Xuemei has been awarded the Outstanding Graduator Instructor of Shandon Province and Female Workers' Model of Making Contributions of Shandong Province Educational Labour Union. She has won the third prize of Shandong Medical Science and Technology Innovation Achievement and the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Binzhou.
