Zhang Guilong, PhD, Professor
Prof. Zhang is the Senior Member of Chinese Society of Micro and Nano Technology and Member of Chinese Society of Biomaterials.
Teaching Experiences
Prof. Zhang has taught "Diagnosis and Treatment of Genes and Introduction to Scientific Research and Development in Academic Preface” for postgraduate students, and the compulsory course of “Introduction to Medical Science Research” for undergraduate students.
Scientific Research
Prof. Zhang is mainly engaged in the research and development of novel magnetic resonance contrast agents and anti-tumor targeted nano-drug formulations. In the research and development of novel magnetic resonance contrast agents, Zhang has firstly resolved the interference mechanism of dual-mode magnetic resonance contrast agents, and designed a variety of high-performance magnetic resonance contrast agents to improve the early and precise diagnosis of tumors. In the research of anti-tumor targeting nano-drugs, Zhang has firstly proposed that oxygen vacancy defects can accelerate the catalytic activity of magnetic crystals, promote the generation of reactive oxygen species in cancer cells, improve the efficiency of non-programmed cancer cell death, and provide new ideas to address the drug resistance and recurrence of tumors. This series of work has been reported by mainstream media, such as Xinhua News Agency and Voice of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and reprinted by Science and Technology Daily, Xinhua Net, Phoenix Net and other media. In the past five years, Zhang has undertaken six provincial and national level projects, such as projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Key Research and Development Program sub-projects, and one enterprise horizontal project. Zhang has published more than 60 SCI papers, including 20 SCI papers with first or corresponding author in high level journals, such as Adv. Funct. Mater, Mater. Horiz, Biomaterials and Chem. Eng. J with H-index 24 and >1400 citations. He has applied for 14 invention patents, seven of which have been granted. He has participated in two scientific research achievements, with a direct transformation cost of more than RMB 20 million yuan.
