June is like in the youth of time, with auld Lang Syne in the air. In the morning of June 29, the Graduation Ceremony and Degree Award Ceremony of the University's 2021 postgraduates were held simultaneously in the academic lecture hall of Rongxiang Building and the Film and Television Hall of Binzhou Campus. Teachers and students gathered to solute the youth and comment on the embarkment for future. University leaders, namely Che Xianli, Zhao Shengtian, Ma Dongtai, Lu Changjun, Wang Guangcheng, Sun Xiangjun, Zhou Lianshun and Zhang Yulong attended the ceremony. President Zhao Shengtian delivered a speech. Vice President Wang Guangcheng presided over the ceremony.

In his speech, President Zhao Shengtian, on behalf of the University, extended the warmest congratulations to the students who successfully completed their studies, paid his lofty respect to all teachers who have worked hard for the growth of the students, expressed his sincere gratitude to the relatives and friends who supported and cared for the students, and put forward ardent expectations for graduate students who are about to graduate. He hoped that the students should, first, promote the spirit of the University motto, be brave to pursue the absolute sincerity of great medical workers, always keep in mind the University motto of “Benevolence and Distinction”, integrate personal development into the construction of “Healthy China” bravely assume the mission of caring for the health of the people throughout the life cycle, take the predecessors of doctors as models, take good care of people’s health with kindness, guards lives with outstanding proficiency, be committed to the development of medical and health care, and grow up to become the mainstay of the medical field in the future. Second, the graduates must carry forward the spirit of innovation and bravely climb the peak of science and technology, shouldering the important task given by the times, with the spirit of advancing with the times, the courage to innovate and the perseverance of determination, daring to be the first, daring to make breakthroughs, making new knowledge, new methods, and new structures guide one’s medical path. The graduates should be an innovators not afraid of hardships, brightening up their life with a forward-looking attitude and an open spirit, endowing themselves a sense of mission to actively participate in the original innovation of “from 0 to 1” and the coordinated research on bottleneck problems and strive to become excellent talents with the world in mind and constant self-improvement. Third, the graduates must carry forward the spirit of struggle and bravely shoulder the mission of the times. They should carry forward the spirit of hard work, be not afraid of difficulties or risks, dare to strive, and have the courage to achieve success, explore the mysteries of medicine from academic research, realize the sacredness of medicine from saving lives and heal the wounds, feel the charm of medicine from the smiling faces of patients after healing, make great ambitions, show great virtues, assume great responsibilities, integrate personal and family dreams into national dreams, incorporate personal development into the tide of the country and the nation’s centuries of struggle, contribute to the country with wisdom, serve the society with pioneering and enterprising spirit, pursue excellence in climbing the peak, achieve career success in real learning and hard work, and let the youth bloom in the unremitting struggle for the motherland, for the nation, for the people, and for mankind!

Subsequently, Sun Xiangjun read out the “Resolution of Binzhou Medical University on Granting Li Xikai and Other Postgraduate Master’s Degrees”. Participating in the ceremony, the University leaders awarded the master graduates with degrees, awarded degree certificates, and turned the tassels.
