In the afternoon of July 28, Chen Runsheng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to the "Benevolent Lakeside" Academic Lecture Hall and gave an academic report entitled Precision Medicine, Nucleic Acid Drugs and Future Development. Dean Zhao Shengtian listened to the report together with more than 100 researchers and graduate students representatives.
In the report, Academician Chen Runsheng talked about big data and precision medicine, using vivid cases and a large amount of data to explain the combination of big data and medicine in omics, the combination of artificial intelligence and medical care, and the opportunities and challenges in the development of precision medicine. He put forward the point of view that precision medicine research had taken a strategic position in the new round of national technological competition and in leading the trend of international development. Then he explained the revolutionary significance of nucleic acid drugs in precision medicine and the current research status and development trend of nucleic acid drugs worldwide. Furthermore, he shared his team’s research work in long non-coding nucleic acid drugs and China’s RNA Research progress.
Chen Runsheng’s report was rich in content with broad vision and far-reaching intentions. The entire lecture hall was full of teachers and students, who enjoyed a wonderful academic feast. After the report meeting, Chen exchanged point of views on relevant academic issues with everyone, and gave detailed answers to the questions put forward.
