Taishan Academic Forum and the Shandong Immunotherapy Professional Committee Summit Academic Forum was Successfully Held

From December 10th to 12th, the “Taishan Academic Forum: New Immune Molecules and Diseases and the 2021 Summit Academic Forum of the Immunotherapy Professional Committee of Shandong Society for Immunology”, hosted by Shandong Provincial Department of Education and the Shandong Society for Immunology and undertaken by Binzhou Medical University, was held in Yantai. Ma Dongtai, Secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission of Binzhou Medical University, Zhang Lining, Chairman of the Shandong Branch of the Chinese Society for Immunology, and Hu Xuemei, expert from Binzhou Medical University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Ma Dongtai, on behalf of Binzhou Medical Universityl, welcomed the experts and scholars, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to domestic and foreign immunology experts and professors who have supported and cared about the development of Binzhou Medical University for years. He introduced basic information of Binzhou Medical University, including the school-running history, talent training, discipline construction, talent team and reform and development. Ma Dongtai said that the “Taishan Academic Forum” is a high-level achievement sharing and academic exchange platform established by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education based on the Taishan Scholars Construction Project. This forum is of great significance to enhance the exchange and cooperation between Shandong and immunologists at home and abroad, strengthen discipline construction, deepen academic research, and promote the development of basic and clinical research of immunology in Shandong and even the whole country. The school will wholeheartedly support the forum, experts, leaders and colleagues to ensure the success of the forum.


Zhang Lining, on behalf of the Shandong Society for Immunology, extended a warm welcome to the experts and expressed her heartfelt thanks to the experts and professors in the domestic immunology and related fields who attended the conference and gave academic reports. The shared platform promotes the transformation of scientific research results into clinical practice and promotes the clinical application of immunotherapy.


Hu Xuemei introduced the preparations for this forum, the present experts and scholars and the forum arrangement and focused on the research results of our university's “reproductive immunity” research team in recent years, hoping to take this forum as an opportunity to further strengthen the construction of immunity and related disciplines, promote the research team to produce more research results and make new contributions to the development of Binzhou Medical University.

 

After the opening ceremony, well-known scholars and experts at home and abroad will conduct online and offline academic exchanges. Among them, Prof. Wu Yuzhang from Army Military Medical University, Chairman of the Chinese Society for Immunology, expounded on the current status, challenges and opportunities of tumor immunotherapy with the title of Progress & Challenges in Immuno-Therapy. Prof. Chen Wanjun, a tenured senior researcher of National Institutes of Health (NIH) explained the impact of the immune response caused by tissue damage on the neural response in the report Why Itch During Wound Healing. With the title of The Studies of Immunotherapy on Liver Cancer, Prof. Li Fuguang, a tenured professor of University of Missouri, introduced the immune mechanism of the occurrence and development of liver cancer and the latest research on immunotherapy-related target molecules. Zhang Lining in the report Immune Molecules and Major Diseases—From Basic Research to Drug R&D Exploration, focusing on new immune molecules from current basic research to drug R&D applications. Ma Chunhong, deputy dean of Qilu Medical School of Shandong University, discussed NK and Tumor Immune Microenvironment, and put forward a new idea of cellular immunotherapy. Gao Chengjiang, Dean of School of Basic Medical Sciences, Shandong University, Cao Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Parasitic Disease Prevention and Control, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Yang Hui from Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Fu Binqing, Professor from University of Science and Technology of China, Prof. Du Meirong, Deputy Head of the Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Prof. Zhang Jian, Chairman of the Immunotherapy Committee of Shandong Society for Immunology, Prof. Jiang Guosheng from Institute of Translational Medicine of Binzhou Medical University, Executive Director of the Chinese Society for Immunology and Prof. Hu Xuemei from Binzhou Medical University respectively delivered report on Innate Immune Regulation and Inflammation‘Schistosomiasis’ Advances in Mechanisms of Liver Fibrosis, The dark side of DNA: The role of cGAS-STING pathway in cellular senescence and autophagy, The function and application of NK cells at the maternal-fetal interface, Immune checkpoint signaling in the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy, Modulating Th2 immunity with Dendritic cells, The Crosstalk between HCC and TAM promotes HCC development, Regulation of non-coding RNAs and induction of directed differentiation of leukemia cells and The effect of Tim-3 in the adverse outcome of Toxoplasma gondii infection pregnancy for academic exchanges.


All members of the Immunotherapy Professional Committee of Shandong Society for Immunology and teachers, doctors and graduate students from immunology and related fields participated in the forum.
