From December 6th to 9th, Martial Arts Competition of the 16th Shandong University Sports Meeting was held at Qufu Normal University. The team of our university won the third place in the women's group A, the fourth place in the men's group A and the third place in Group A with their total points, through their hard work. Song Yihang and Li Ruixin were awarded the title of “Excellent Athlete” respectively and Su Xinyong and Gong Caiyan were awarded the title of “Excellent Coach” respectively, which achieved record-breaking results in Martial Arts Competition of Shandong University Sports Meeting.
Nine athletes, including Lu Mingkun majored in Clinical Medicine, Song Yihang majored in TCM, Liu Junmiao majored in Prevention, Yang Wen majored in Clinical Medicine, Chen Xiaoyue majored in Clinical Medicine, Li Ruixin majored in Clinical Medicine, Lu Yaqi, majored in Biotechnology, Wang Wanxue majored in Clinical Medicine and Yu Jiangtao majored in Dental Technology were selected to participate the competition. Su Xinyong and Gong Caiyan from the Physical Education and Research Office served as coaches to guide the athletes in the whole process. In the women's group A competition, Chen Xiaoyue won the champion of spear and the runner-up in swordsmanship, Lu Yaqi won the fourth place in spear, Lu Mingkun won the fourth place in swordsmanship and Yang Wen won the eighth place in Taiji sword. In the Men's Group A competition, Song Yihang won the second place in spear and the fourth place in swordsmanship, Wang Wanxue won the third place in swordsmanship, Yu Jiangtao won the fourth place in spear and the sixth place in Taiji sword and Song Yihang, Yu Jiangtao and Wang Wanxue won the fourth place in the men's sparring. In the team competition of Group A, Song Yihang, Yu Jiangtao, Wang Wanxue, Lu Yaqi, Li Ruixin and Yang Wen won the fourth place. In this competition, the team members showed high technical level and strong tenacious will, which injected stronger impetus for the our university to improve the level of physical education and the quality of talent training.
Shandong University Sports Meeting is the biggest sports event among universities in Shandong province. It is held every three years by Shandong Provincial Department of Education and the Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau. It consists of three groups, namely Group A for university students, Group B for higher vocational college students and Group C for students majored in PE and high-level athletes. There are 39 universities and more than 300 athletes participating in this competition.
