A New Multi-Disciplinary Cross-Integration Program was Approved in Our School

Recently, the Ministry of Education released the results of the 2021 undergraduate program filing and approval for ordinary institutions of higher education, and our school was approved for the undergraduate program of Intelligent Medical Engineering (101011T).

 

At present, 29 undergraduate programs are open in our school, covering 5 disciplines, such as Medicine, Science, Engineering, Management, and Education. There are 20 national and provincial first-class undergraduate program construction units and four national-level characteristic programs. We vigorously promotes the combination of medical engineering, medical science, and medical literature, and builds a medical professional education system covering the whole life cycle and the whole process of health.

The newly opened Intelligent Medical Engineering program is to meet the needs of the national strategic Healthy China 2030. Based on modern medical and natural science theories, it integrates advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence, wearable devices and other cutting-edge technologies, with intelligent technical service for clinical health as the starting point and the intersection of medicine and engineering as the engine, to realize the training of new engineering talents of medical and engineering knowledge. It focuses on the cultivation of innovative talents in fields of medical intelligent perception and health management, intelligent precision medical equipment, intelligent image analysis and diagnosis, medical health big data and intelligent decision-making, which plays a leading role in encouraging interdisciplinary intersection, developing new medicine and new engineering and promoting the reform and innovation of traditional medical models.

 

In recent years, we have continuously optimized the structure of disciplines and programs and improved the level of professional connotation construction, focusing on the orientation of running schools and the needs of regional development and health strategies. The approval of the new program has further improved the layout of our disciplines and programs. It is of great significance in exploring the medical-engineering interdisciplinary talent training model, creating a medical-engineering compound excellent innovative talent training platform, further expanding the field of talent training, and promoting the construction of high-level and application-oriented universities with characteristics.
