On the morning of March 30, Che Xianli, Secretary of the BMU CPC Party Committee, presided over the first monthly rountine meeting for key work in 2022 to deploy and promote the University's recent key work. The meeting was held both online and offline. The main venue was set in the University's epidemic prevention and control headquarters, and the branch venues were set in Binzhou campus and Hedong area of Yantai campus. All school leaders attended the meeting.

According to the meeting agenda, Bai Xianyong, Vice President, Ma Dongtai, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Lyu Changjun, Vice President, Wang Guangcheng, Vice President, Sun Xiangjun, Vice President, Zhou Lianshun, Member of the BMU CPC Party Committee and Director of Organization Department and Zhang Yulong, Member of the CPC BMU Committee and Director of Publicity Department of the CPC BMU Committee, closely focusing on the main theme of epidemic prevention and control and high-quality development, successively made reports on the progress of the work, the existing problems and suggestions, and future work plans of their responsible or leading work since the beginning of the new semester. Che Xianli, listened carefully and made comments one by one, affirming the achievements as well as putting forward suggestions. Afterwards, President Zhao Shengtian delivered a speech, and Che Xianli made concluding remarks.
Che Xianli pointed out in his concluding remarks that the implementation of the monthly routine meeting for key work, especially through online, was an innovative way for BMU to anchor development goals, strengthen implementation, and promote development under the current situation of epidemic prevention and control. From the first trial, it could be seen that the effect was sound, and the expected goals had been achieved. In the future, we would make this as an institutionalized and long-term approach to ensure that all key tasks of the University can be completed on schedule with efficiency, so as to promote high-quality development of various undertakings of the University.
In terms of implementing the spirit of this meeting and promoting the double victory of epidemic prevention and control and University development, he emphasized that we must firstly further reinforce our political position and thoroughly study and implement the important instructions on epidemic prevention and control by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee and the spirit of his important speech, have a deep understanding of the complex, long-term and repetitive nature of the current epidemic prevention and control condition, fully implement the epidemic prevention and control requirements designated by the CPC Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Shandong Provincial People’s Government and local party committees and governments, implement various epidemic prevention and control measures, and resolutely build a solid barrier for campus safety, with perseverance, close attention and carefulness. Second, we must do a good work of coordination, correctly handle the relationship between epidemic prevention and control and the high-quality development of our University, adhere to the principle of attaching importance to both and promote the development of both. Under the premise of fully implementing various measures for epidemic prevention and control, we also need to strengthen ideas and methods innovation, accelerate the progress of the University to ensure the successful completion of the annual tasks and goals. Third, we must strengthen problem-orientated mindset and counter-measuring thinking. We must not only have the ability to find problems, but also have countermeasures to solve them. We must conscientiously plan solutions to problems, formulate corresponding measures, and form a joint force to solve development problems and achieve high-quality development. Fourth, we must strengthen the implementation of measures, further enhance the sense of urgency in development and work advancement, catch up with the progress, focus on the effectiveness, establish a road map according to the schedule, set out a good timetable, and ensure that the work plan is implemented in detail and completed in full.
In his speech, Zhao Shengtian, on behalf of the University, gave positive comments on the results achieved in the previous period of epidemic prevention and control and the key work promotion, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the whole University for uniting as one, overcoming difficulties and making selfless commitment. He emphasized that first, we must always keep in mind epidemic prevention and control, continue to carry forward the work style of strictness, truthfulness, detail, solidity and speed, closely integrate the University’s effort with the provincial and local epidemic prevention and control situation, continuously improve the working mechanism and promote innovation, continue to do a good job in epidemic prevention and control, and ensure the health and safety of teachers and students. We must give full play to the spirit of hard work, dedication, and overcoming hardships by the BMU’s staff and faculty, and the spirit of giving up the individual interests for the care of everyone in a whole in the work of epidemic prevention and control and transfer this as the inherent driving force for the reform and development of the University. Second, we must cherish the hard-won achievements of teaching, scientific research, management, service and other work under the background of epidemic prevention and control, strengthen our confidence, have the courage to tackle difficulties, and make overall plans to achieve greater results in the future work. Third, we must closely follow the University's 14th Five-Year development plan and the goals, tasks and requirements set forth in the annual key work initiatives, recognize the situation, identify shortcomings, actively meet the needs of economic and social development, and focus on promoting the reform of the talent training model. We must strengthen the construction of talents, disciplines, and scientific research, deeply participate in the provincial and local development strategies, refine various items of the plans, and solidly promote the implementation. We must strengthen the guarantee of resources, on the basis of increasing income and reducing expenditure, do a good job in the integration between University and local government and between University and enterprises, seek survival in contributions, seek support in service, and strive for more resources for the high-quality development of the University’s various undertakings. Fourth, we must focus on the key points, focus on the development layout of Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy as Advantages and Disabled Education and Rehabilitation as Specialties, improve the system and mechanism, clarify the goals and tasks and the division of responsibilities, allocate various resources and platform construction, adhere to both consolidation and cultivation, strengthen and upgrade simultaneously, and accelerate the development of advantageous disciplines. The pace of construction will drive the all-round development of related disciplines, form a good development pattern that combines aspects with areas, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of the University.
