Recently, in order to relieve the psychological pressure of international students and enrich their daily cultural life, the School of International Studies held a series of mental health education events for international students on campus, including painting contest, photography contest, the spring fashion Show and the essay contest.
With the painting theme of "United to Fight Against COVID-19 Pandemic", international students expressed their strong belief in fighting against the pandemic. According to the scores given by the representatives of international students, MUHAMMAD ATIF won the first prize, two international students including KARABO MOTSIRI won the second prize, and four international students including BILAL AHMAD won the third prize. The photography contest with the theme of "Taking Exercise Against the Pandemic" received 19 photos in total. Upon selection, FORSTER ROPHINE NSOH won the first prize, three international students including MUHAMMAD ATIF won the second prize, and six international students including NATASHA KALOMBO won the third prize. For the Spring Fashion Show, the international students on campus put on their favorite spring clothes for catwalk in the campus, or fellow hot short videos to shoot funny clips, or put on different clothes for different poses, showing their positive and youthful spirits.
The essay contest with the theme of "A Letter to Families" was most popular among international students. They sent messages to their families far away to express their nostalgia. The letter created a communicating bridge among the international students, their parents and the university, allowing those student parents to know how their children did in the university and what did the university do to care for their children.
These events have effectively alleviated the psychological pressure caused by COVID-19 pandemic among international students, and helped to create a healthy, harmonious and stable campus cultural atmosphere.
