Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the List of 2021 National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Sites. Two majors of Clinical Medicine and Stomatology of BMU have been selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction units in 2021, and five majors, including Pediatrics, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Medical Imaging Technology, Stomatology Technology and Rehabilitation Physiotherapy, have been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction units. So far, the university has 3 national first-class undergraduate programs and 25 provincial first-class undergraduate programs, accounting for 83.3% of all undergraduate programs.
In recent years, BMU has carried out in-depth implementation of the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and nurturing people, benchmark the first-class undergraduate major construction standard, professional certification standards, etc., and continually advance the disciplinary development with internal value. We focus on the constructions of “Four New Majors”, the first-class curriculum system and the primary teaching organization to play a “combination” of education and teaching reform and then improve disciplinary construction level and talent training quality. In the next step, we should adhere to demand-oriented principle, broaden the perspective of talent training, taking the initiative to serve the national and regional development strategy, and meet the needs of local economic and social development and that of industrial development. We should adhere to development with BMU features, further aim at the orientation of disciplinary development, and continuously accumulate the advantages and characteristics of disciplinary construction. We should adhere to the innovation of measures, further promote the implementation of professional work, and strive to open up high-quality development of undergraduate education and teaching in Educating Five Domains Simultaneously, education and teaching innovation, production and education cooperation and other aspects at the same time, through the opportunity of the first-class disciplinary construction.
