At 9:30am on June 25th, BMU’s graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony for the class of 2022 Master students was held simultaneously in Yantai and Binzhou campuses. University leaders Che Xianli, Zhao Shengtian, Bai Xianyong, Ma Dongtai, Lv Changjun, Wang Guangcheng, Sun Xiangjun, Zhou Lianshun, and Zhang Yulong together with alumni representative Mou Yonggao attended the ceremony. President Zhao Shengtian sent a message to the graduates. Vice President Wang Guangcheng presided over the ceremony.

President Zhao Shengtian affectionately reviewed the students’ response to the severe challenges brought by COVID-19 and fully affirmed the students’ achievements in response to COVID-19, service to COVID-19 prevention and control, meticulous research, and deep academic cultivation. He said, these honors and achievements are earned by your hard work. Congratulations to you for handing in a wonderful graduation paper to the University, to your families and to yourselves. Many years later, when you look back, I think that period of time together with hand in hand, must be the most memorable. You will also be grateful for yourselves for daring to face the difficulties and for working diligently!

Zhao Shengtian pointed out that the students are about to embark on a new journey in life. Whether in the country, society, or in work and family, you will surely take on a new responsibility on your shoulders. He hoped that the students should work hard, uphold the spirit of struggle, bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping's wishes for young people to “establish great aspirations, be virtuous, develop great talents, and take on great responsibilities”, firmly grasp the new development concept, and actively serve the new development pattern to create the future with struggle and support dreams with hard work. With the lofty aspiration of “youth being vigorous and strong can strive for your own times”, the graduates should explore the truth of medicine, protect the integrity of life, forge ahead, strive to be pioneers that make self-improvement and advance with the times bravely. Secondly, the graduates should keep in mind the mission, adhere to the heart of love, walk along the road travelled by predecessors, pursue excellence in climbing the peak, assiduously study medicine, practice the mission of medical practice with intelligence and dedication, protect life with life time, pass love on with love and strive to be a loving, benevolent contributor to the new era. Third, the graduates should embrace the world, never forget mankind’s natural kindness by cultivating the feelings of the family and the country, adhering to the mission of serving the country with sincere and pure heart and lofty aspiration to make contributions to the realization of national prosperity, national rejuvenation, and people's happiness. The graduates should run well in the youth relay race that belongs to your generation, and strive to be a practitioner of the era with firm belief.

At the ceremony, Vice President Bai Xianyong announced the Notice of Binzhou Medical University on Awarding Master’s Degree to Liu Qing and other Gaduate Students, Vice President Sun Xiangjun announced the Notice of Binzhou Medical University on Awarding Outstanding Graduates of 2022, and the list of outstanding graduates of 2022 was announced. The University leaders turned the tassel for online master graduates and for the on-site master graduates, awarded degree certificate for the on-site graduates and issued appointment letters to contact persons for alumni.
Prof. Mou Yonggao, the alumnus representative, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor of the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, delivered a speech, expressing his gratitude to the Alma Mater for its cultivation and encouraging the students to set a high point, plan scientifically, work hard and reach new heights to contribute to the strategy of “Healthy China”. Professor Gong Yongfeng, the representative of the advisors, hoping that the students could become medical talents of the new era with ideal, ambition, responsibility, achievement, vision and inclusiveness, and create their own extraordinary lives. Graduate representative Zhao Yang, on behalf of all the graduates, said that he would keep in mind the Alma Mater's motto of “Benevolent and Skillful”, firmly believe that medicine is “applying the extreme delicate and the extreme subtle skills”, “expose oneself to a wide range of medical sources, and be diligent and tireless”, and make unremitting efforts to the medical cause and ideal by “sensing the same pain as perceived from others” with empathy.
Before the ceremony, the graduation MV Sailing was broadcast on the spot and teacher and student representatives sing the song New Starting Point together, to send best wishes for the graduation students. During the ceremony, the University made a special arrangement by projecting the names of the 2022 graduates on the screen to give students the most romantic graduation gifts. Students on the spot recorded the warm and touching moment with their mobile phones! The ceremony was broadcast live through Flash News and Binzhou Medical University official account, with more than 100,000 people watched the live ceremony online.
