From July 12th to 16th, the 6th Morphology Competition for National College Students Majored in Medical Laboratory Technology and the 1st Virtual Simulation Clinical Experiment Diagnosis Competition were held online. Zhang Baoyu and Wang Yuning from Medical Laboratory Technology Class of 2023 won the first prizes of both the two competitions and Wang Ping and Shi Mengjia from Medical Laboratory Technology Class of 2023 won third prizes in the Morphological Competition.

More than 70 medical colleges and universities across the country participated in the competition, including Shanghai Jiaotong University, South China Medical University, Capital Medical University, Nanjing Medical University. The competition consists of preliminary rounds and finals. It focused on students' clinical thinking ability and tested their knowledge on bone marrow cells, peripheral blood cell morphology, urine sediment inspection, parasites, pathogenic microorganisms and other morphological contents, as well as virtual simulation experiment operation and case-related clinical thinking training.

We attached great importance to this competition, and a number of backbone teachers was selected by the Second School of Clinical Medicine from hospitals to instruct the participating students. The competition can not only stimulate students' interest in learning, strengthen the training on skills , but also help students combine professional knowledge learning with vocational skills training. The Second School of Clinical Medicine took the competition as an opportunity to sum up experience, strengthen the concept of promoting teaching by competition, promoting learning by competition, and promoting reform by competition, and strive to achieve greater progress in education and teaching.
