The National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers is the only teaching competition for college teachers in the List of Three Evaluations and One Competition Retained for Units Directly under the Ministry of Education. It is also the teaching competition with the largest number of sessions, the highest difficulty, the widest participation, and the most authoritativeness. This year's competition consisted of 31 divisions, and 18,407 teachers from 1,195 colleges and universities participated in the provincial contests. After that, 1,462 teachers from 267 colleges and universities were promoted to take part in the national finals. 275 teachers with 205 courses were included for the on-site evaluation at the national finals.

Since registration for the competition in November 2021, Yang Yue and her team have gone through the in-university selection, in-university online competition, in-university on-site competition, provincial online competition, and on-site competition and got the ticket to the national competition. With support from the preparation activity organized by BMU and the drills arranged by the Shandong Delegation to the national competition, she was included for the on-site competition at the national competition. She remained calm and quick-witted in the presentation and question-and-answer phases. Finally, she won the second prize in the intermediate and below group, which fully demonstrated BMU teachers’ spirit of actively participating in the innovation of classroom teaching and bravely undertaking the mission of educating people. It was the first time for BMU to be awarded in a national teaching innovation competition after BMU ranked first in terms of total awards at the Second Shandong Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers.

BMU has attached great importance to teaching activities in recent years. It guides the faculty to devote themselves to teaching and educating people by formulating incentive and restraint policies and establishing mechanisms combining competition and teaching. In the future, BMU will continue to promote teaching and make improvements through competitions. By making teaching innovation competitions the grip and focusing on teaching pain points and difficulties, BMU will carry out extensive classroom teaching innovations and reforms to continuously improve the quality of education.
