On August 27, the 9th Taishan Cup National Medical Imaging Technology Practical Skills Competition for College Students came to an end in Tai'an. After hard training and careful preparation, the four contestants from the School of Medical Imaging showed a good spirit in the competition and won the first place in the national final team. Among them, Dong Yize won the first place in DR examination technology, Chen Simin won the second place in CT examination technology, Cui Xiang won the second place in MRI examination technology, and Wen Jialin won the second place in medical image processing.

This competition is sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association and the Imaging Technology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, organized by the Education Group of the Imaging Technology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the Radiation Technology Branch of the Shandong Medical Association, and the Shandong First Medical University & Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences and co-organized by the People's Medical Publishing House Co., LTD. A total of 50 colleges and universities across the country signed up for the regional competition. After the regional selection competition, 36 teams and 149 students entered the national finals.
The School of Medical Imaging attached great importance to the competition, held the preparation meeting for the competition and various competitions at the hospital level (including DR, CT, MRI, and theoretical assessment). Finally Dong Yize, Chen Simin, Cui Xiang and Wen Jialin from the 2019 Medical Imaging Technology program were selected to participate the competition as a team. During the preparation period, the contestants participated in the intensive training in the Medical Imaging Skills Training Center and the Radiology Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou Medical University under instruction of the teachers of the Medical Imaging Technology Teaching and Research Office. In the finals, the teams of our school stood out with strong technical skills and excellent teamwork, and finally achieved good results.
The Medical Imaging Technology program of our school is a first-class professional construction unit in Shandong Province and the Medical Imaging Technology discipline is a master’s degree accreditation unit. Relying on key specialty clusters on provincial level, characteristic key disciplines on provincial level and Collaboration and Innovation Demonstration Center of Shandong Universities, with the high attention and strong support of our school, the quality of professional personnel training has been continuously improved. The School of Medical Imaging will take this competition as an opportunity to promote learning, education, and reform, continue to give full play to the advantages of medical education and to promote education and teaching reform, and forge ahead to meet new opportunities and challenges.
