Work hard together to achieve excellence and forge forward to attain new milestones. Binzhou Hospital of TCM, an affiliated hospital of Binzhou Medical University (BMU), held a grand opening ceremony for its new campus on the morning of October 1.
Li Chuntian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Binzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Binzhou, and Zhao Shengtian, Deputy Secretary of CPC BMU Committee and President of BMU, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Also present at the ceremony were Lyu Changjun, Vice President BMU and Director of BMU Binzhou Campus Management Committee, Wu Gang, President of the China Information Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and former Deputy Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Gao He, Vice President of the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics and former Vice President of the Air Force General Hospital of PLA, Su Qingmin, Researcher of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and former Director of Chinese Medicine Development Research Center of the academy, and Sun Xuesen, Secretary-general of Binzhou Municipal Government. Du Yujie, Vice Mayor of Binzhou, hosted the ceremony.
In his speech, Li Chuntian first extended warm congratulations on behalf of the CPC Binzhou Municipal Committee and Binzhou Municipal Government on the campus's opening. He noted that in recent years, the municipal Party committee and government have worked to improve the people's living quality through meticulous planning, implementing necessary safeguards, and providing desired services while adhering to the people-centered development thought and focusing on the people's needs and expectations. With top priority given to the development of people's health in strategies, the construction of Healthy Binzhou has made material progress, and Binzhou has become the only Model City for Healthy City Construction in Provinces in Shandong. He expected the hospital to consolidate existing advantages, strengthen inheritance and innovation, and promote the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine in the city by seizing the great opportunity of revitalizing and developing traditional Chinese medicine, taking the operation of its new campus as a new starting point, and focusing on the needs of the people. He requested all departments to take effective measures to support the development of traditional Chinese medicine in terms of resource allocation, policies and mechanisms, and industrial development. He called for all medical and health institutions to develop innovative healthcare models integrating traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, strengthen cooperation in talent development and research and development, actively strive to build a National Pilot Zone for Comprehensive Reform of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and build a highland for inheritance, innovation, and development of traditional Chinese medicine in the Yellow River Delta.

In his speech, Zhao Shengtian noted that Binzhou Hospital of TCM was made a directly affiliated and managed hospital of BMU in October 2021. BMU and Binzhou Hospital of TCM worked together closely in the fields of medical service and education collaboration, discipline development, specialty construction, student training, talent pooling, scientific and technological innovation, platform building, etc. ever since then. By accelerating the integration of resources, strengthening the guaranteed factors, and continuously deepening integration and connection, the cooperation has produced fruitful results and attained breakthroughs in the high-quality development of the BMU and Binzhou Hospital of TCM with win-win results. He noted that BMU will keep supporting Binzhou Hospital of TCM in medical treatment, education, and scientific research. BMU will also strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the hospital in scientific and technological innovation, specialty construction, talent and teacher development, governance systems, and so on at higher levels and in higher quality. The two entities should deepen the coordinated development of medical service, education, and research, coordinate the integration of high-quality medical resources and medical education, promote the better, faster, and higher-quality development of Binzhou Hospital of TCM, and jointly write a new chapter of hospital-university collaboration.

After the ceremony, the leaders and experts visited facilities of the new hospital, including the outpatient service hall on the first floor, intelligent TCM pharmacy, famous TCM experts' studios, main corridor on the second floor, consultation center, applied TCM practice promotion center, and preparation center.
Other relevant leaders and experts from the China Information Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Shanghai Clinical Research Center, Third People's Hospital of Zhengzhou, Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; leaders of the member organizations of the Binzhou Leading Group for Promoting the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, leaders of the Municipal Health Commission, municipal health care institutions, Binzhou Medical University Hospital and other relevant entities also attended the opening ceremony.
The new campus of Binzhou Hospital of TCM is an important measure of Binzhou municipal Party committee and government to optimize the allocation of medical resources and deepen the reforms of TCM, and a key livelihood project and a heart-warming project to enhance the sense of gain and satisfaction in medical treatment for citizens of the city. The opening of the new campus marked a new starting point and stage for the development of traditional Chinese medicine in Binzhou and Binzhou Hospital of TCM. From this new starting point, the hospital is expected to achieve more breakthroughs in inheritance, research, and innovation, drive the high-quality development of Chinese medicine, and contribute to the construction of Healthy China and Healthy Shandong by pooling and concentrating resources, making pioneering efforts, and forging ahead with more prominent characteristics and more high-quality and efficient services of Chinese medicine!
