Binzhou Medical University (BMU) Hospital has successfully set up a National Postdoctoral Research Workstation according to a recent document from the General Office of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee.
To accommodate the research needs and career development of talented employees, BMU Hospital has been actively developing the postdoctoral workstation and other platforms by coordinating the development of platforms, projects, and talents in line with the higher-level policies. BMU Hospital became a postdoctoral innovation practice base recorded with the Binzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau in December 2020 and a provincial postdoctoral innovation practice base recognized by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Shandong Province in July 2021. BMU Hospital started the application for the status of a national postdoctoral research workstation in March 2022 and received approval after the application, evaluation, and selection procedures. The approval of the national postdoctoral research workstation marks a major breakthrough for BMU Hospital in the development of a talent force and scientific research platforms.
The approval also attests to the hospital's scientific research and innovation strength. The hospital has a medical research center integrating scientific research, teaching, and service and consisting of research teams and open experimental platforms for metabolic and neuropsychiatric diseases, basic and clinical tumor studies, etc. The center is supported by an SPF facility and a biological sample bank, is equipped with advanced instruments and equipment, and features the hardware and technology for research on the whole animal, tissue, cell, and molecular levels.
The workstation has entered strategic cooperation with Shandong University, Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Shantou University Medical College in joint training of postdoctoral researchers. The workstation has admitted ten postdoctoral researchers since July 2021. The hospital offers generous remuneration and sufficient scientific research funds for postdoctoral researchers, encourages outstanding talents to apply for projects under various scientific research and talent programs at all levels, and provides dedicated funding support.
BMU Hospital will rely on this high-quality platform, conscientiously implement the relevant requirements for postdoctoral work, keep strengthening cooperation with mobile workstations at universities, improve the management system related to admission, cultivation, assessment, and exit, improve the innovation capability and core competencies, and provide talent support for the hospital's high-quality development.
