Recently, the Education Department of Shandong Province released the Notice Announcing Results of Selection of Characteristic Projects of Higher Education Institutes for Serving Major National Strategies for Yellow River, which included the Institute of Yellow River Basin Ecological Health submitted by Binzhou Medical University (BMU). The project has become another featured project of BMU to implement the national strategies for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin.
68 higher education institutes around the province submitted 155 candidate projects. After review, the experts selected 62 characteristic projects closely related to the major national strategies for the Yellow River, including 20 category-I projects, 20 category-II projects, and 22 category-III projects.
BMU released the Implementation Plan of Binzhou Medical University for Serving Major National Strategies for Yellow River to actively serve the national strategies for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin by leveraging the university's advantageous disciplines and specialties. The approved Institute of Yellow River Basin Ecological Health relies on the interdisciplinary advantages of the School of Public Health and Management of BMU in public health, ecological environment, and health care. By consolidating resources and highlighting characteristics, the institute with a team of high-level talents, focusing on ecological health research in the Yellow River basin, will become a highland for innovative research on ecological health in the Yellow River Basin, explore BMU practices for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River basin, and contribute BMU's strengths to the cause.
