On November 2, Shanghai Ranking released the list of the 100 Best Chinese Universities by Subject of Medicine in 2022 with BMU ranking 87th.
The candidates on this list were all the Chinese universities included in the Shanghai Ranking Best Chinese Universities Rankings in 2022. The subject of medicine covers 10 disciplines of medicine, namely basic medicine, clinical medicine, stomatology, public health and preventive medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, special medicine, and nursing.
The selection process examined 21 indicators in eight aspects, namely scale of discipline, strength of discipline, accuracy of discipline, high-end talents, scientific research projects, major achievements, academic papers, and scientific research platforms. The selection process was supported by comprehensive big data monitoring platforms. The 2022 100 Best Chinese Universities by Subject of Medicine Released by Shanghai Ranking fall into two levels: category A+ universities: the top 20 Chinese universities by subject of medicine (equivalent to the top 2% Chinese universities in the medical field); category A universities: the 21st to 100th Chinese universities by subject of medicine (equivalent to the Chinese universities falling in the range of 2% to 10% in the medical field). Shanghai Jiaotong University, Peking Union Medical College and Peking University are the top three on the list.
