Recently, the National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Innovation Alliance released the list of NVSETIA 2022 Demonstration Courses for Experiment Teaching Application, which includes the "Project of Virtual Simulation Experiment of Nursing for Patients with Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD)" led by Professor Xu Hongmei of Binzhou Medical University (BMU). The list has only eight courses from colleges and universities in Shandong.
The project led by Professor Xu Hongmei is characterized by advanced teaching ideas, the student-centered principle, and substantial innovations in terms of teaching content, methods, evaluation, and design. The course was recognized as one of the second-batch first-class undergraduate courses in Shandong Province in August 2021 and later recommended to participate in the national virtual simulation first-class course selection.
In recent years, the Academic Affairs Division (Experiment Teaching Management Center) has continuously strengthened efforts for experiment teaching, enhanced the connotation of experiment teaching, and promoted the reform of experimental teaching. At present, BMU has one national virtual simulation experiment teaching project and five provincial first-class virtual simulation courses.
In 2022, NVSETIA selected 84 demonstration courses for experiment teaching applications from colleges and universities across the country for their outstanding results in unique curriculum designs, application innovations in teaching modes and sharing, technological innovations, and systematic curriculum development.
