Che Xianli stated in his speech that the TCM Hospital Affiliated to BMU is an important part of BMU in terms of latter’s development, so, with regard to applying its development strategy of BMU serving local causes and its goal of developing BMU into a high-level medical university with remarkable advantages and distinct characteristics, it is of significance to intensify the university-hospital integrated development. As for further stepping up the university-hospital integrated development and quickening the self-improvement of the TCM hospitals directly under and affiliated to BMU, he urged as follows. First, boosting the university-hospital integration and perfecting the medical treatment and teaching integrated mechanism. Different departments and units should strengthen extensive cooperations and exchanges with the affiliated TCM hospital, give the hospital a guarantee of teaching facilities, scientific research conditions and the building of the high-level talent body, and strong support to the hospital in talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research, to promote the deep hospital-university integration and generate a win-win result. Second, solidifying the dominant position of teaching and elevating the level of medical teaching and research combined education. We should optimize the talent cultivation model, make innovations in clinical teaching content, forms and models to facilitate the inheritance and innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine. We should also lift the teaching level of clinical teachers, comprehensively raise teachers' teaching awareness, experience and capability, strengthen clinical practice and teaching, and set up a medical treatment and teaching coordinated macro management and coordination mechanism. In addition, we should promote students' comprehensive quality and capability, clinical thinking, clinical skills and professional quality without cease. Third, enhancing cooperation in scientific research and innovative capability in technology. We should jointly tackle key problems, make the hospital a base for high-level research into traditional Chinese medicine and incubating and translating scientific and technological results. The hospital should stick to the working concept of 1+2+N, hold on to the two objectives of constructing a province-level regional TCM medical center and a national TCM-featured key hospital, be proactive to adapt to the need of economic and social development, continuously perfect the TCM service system, manifest the special advantages of TCM in prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases, health restoration, public health emergency handling and other health services. The hospital should also promote the combination of TCM and Western medicine and their coordinated development to put TCM to good use in serving the people and improving people's well-being. Fifth, emphasizing the leading role of Party construction and gathering extraordinary strength to forge ahead. We should always place specific responsibility on the exact subject when it comes to making an all-out effort to enforce strict Party discipline, gradually completing the cover-all responsibility system, taking great pains to bring out the inner power of grass-roots Party organizations and the mass of Party members. We should advance the scientific, institutionalized and standardized construction of grass-roots Party organizations, create a strong atmosphere of striving for excellence, competing in making contributions, learning from each other and helping each other, thus conducting all Party construction work in a more scientific fashion. We should further refine and summarize special practices and try to create a Party construction work brand that stands the test of time and is well recognized and worth popularizing and making Party construction and business work complement each other.

He said that the TCM hospital has made its contribution to vitalize BMU's development since it became a hospital directly under BMU. He said that the hospital, as an entity directly under a university, will take the people's health as the focus and reform and innovation as the driving power, earnestly put all national and provincial policy and measures on TCM development in place.
