On February 27, President Zhao Shengtian met with Professor Wei Xunbin from Health Science Center of Peking University with head from School of Basic Medical Sciences.

Zhao Shengtian welcomed the arrival of Professor Wei Xunbin on behalf of the university and briefly introduced the university's talent cultivation, scientific research, and other aspects. He hoped that the two sides could deepen exchanges and cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, achievement transformation, and industrial cooperation. Wei Xunbin fully affirmed the achievements of the university in talent cultivation and scientific research in recent years. He hoped that the two sides could further focus on cooperation points, share development points, and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of the medical and health industry. The two sides also conducted in-depth discussions on the cross-research and application transformation of optical imaging technology and medicine, and conducted specific consultations on the future direction of cooperation and exchange.
Before the meeting, Professor Wei Xunbin was invited to give an academic report titled Real-time Dynamic Monitoring of Circulating (Tumor) Cells in Living Optical Non-invasive Manner for teachers and students. He detailed the real-time high-speed fluorescence imaging method and the monitoring mechanism and application value of cell populations in the circulatory system in vivo, in real-time, non-invasive, and quantitative detection with in vivo flow cytometry from the research background, research results, and clinical translation applications. He explained the significance of the technology for early diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of tumor metastasis. After the report, Wei Xunbin also interacted with the participating teachers and students for further exchange.
