On April 14, Binzhou Medical University (BMU) held the 2023 Faculty and Staff Badminton Tournament to strengthen connections with the affiliated hospitals and enhance communication between the staff of BMU and that of the affiliated hospitals. Held at the Student Activity Center, the tournament was also intended to select outstanding players and teams for the 2023 President's Cup University Faculty and Staff Badminton Tournament in Shandong Province.

BMU vice presidents Lyu Changjun and Wang Guangcheng watched the event in person. The main leaders of the Trade Union, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, BMU Hospital, BMU Yantai Affiliated Hospital, and Yantaishan Affiliated Hospital attended the opening and closing ceremonies.
At 8:30 in the morning, the teams appeared after the guides at the badminton court of the Student Activity Center. Vice President Lyu Changjun announced the opening of the event. Jin Xianghui, chairman of the Trade Union of BMU, delivered an opening speech. Han Li, chairwoman of the Trade Union of the Affiliated Yantaihan Hospital, hosted the opening ceremony. Athlete representative Qu Hongtao and referee representative Liang Chen took oaths.
After the short opening ceremony, the team competed at the designated sites in the order decided by a lot drawing. After the group rounds and knockout rounds, the first team of BMU won first place in the team category, the team of BMU Hospital and the second team of BMU won second place, and the teams of the Yantai Affiliated Hospital and Yantaishan Hospital won third place. Li Weili from the first team of BMU won first place in men's singles, while Song Qian from the team of BMU Hospital won first place in women's singles. Li Weili and Yang Zhong from the first team of BMU won first place in men's doubles badminton. Wang Xiuhua and Li Weili from the first team of BMU won first place in mixed doubles.
