BMU and German University of Health and Sport (DHGS) hold the first meeting of the management committee for the joint education program in Rehabilitation Therapy

The first meeting of the Management Committee for the joint education program in Rehabilitation Therapy, jointly organized by both the two sides, was successfully held on the afternoon of April 25. President Zhao Shengtian and President Gunnar Mau of DHGS delivered speeches at the meeting. Vice Presidents Lyu Changjun and Zhao Jinggang, as well as Managing Director Christian Werner of DHGS, attended the meeting. Other members of the Management Committee and leaders of relevant schools were also present.

Venue of meeting

Zhao Shengtian pointed out that the joint education program of Rehabilitation Therapy is a successful collaboration between BMU and DHGS. Both sides have made positive attempts in aligning educational and teaching philosophies, integrating curriculum and learning resources, and establishing an international cooperative platform, which have yielded fruitful results beyond expectations. We look forward to further collaboration between the two universities, to explore the potential of cooperation in-depth, and to actively contribute to the high-quality operation of the joint education program and the diversified and in-depth cooperation and exchanges between the two universities.


Gunnar Mau expressed that BMU and DHGS have organically integrated the education systems and educational concepts of China and Germany, with teaching and nurturing students as the core. These beneficial attempts contribute to the high-quality operation of the program and further development of internationalization in both universities.


During the meeting, Wang Deqiang, Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine, reported on the operation of the joint education program, highlighted the existing challenges in the cooperation, summarized the work consensus reached by both Chinese and German sides in the previous stage, and presented the future work plan. He also explained the collaboration on establishing the joint Sports Rehabilitation Laboratory and facilitating exchanges between students and professionals in the field of prosthetics and orthotics engineering. Zhao Wei, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, provided an introduction to the future cooperation with the German side regarding the introduction of traditional Chinese medicine courses and the establishment of a Traditional Chinese Medicine Classroom and other related disciplines.


Christian Werner expressed that the Program Management Committee conducted a comprehensive review of the operation of the cooperative education program between the two universities and discussed the future development of the program as well as further cooperation in other areas. DHGS will take this opportunity of the meeting to strengthen communication and exchange with BMU and promptly promote the implementation of relevant cooperative projects.


The successful convening of this meeting is an important measure to further implement the requirements of the Ministry of Education on joint cooperative education. It is conducive to continuously promoting the high-quality development of the cooperative education program between BMU and DHGS, and to create a brand for joint cooperative education in the field of rehabilitation therapy. It aims to cultivate high-quality, interdisciplinary rehabilitation professionals with an international perspective.
