On the morning of May 10, BMU held the Guest Professor Appointment Ceremony for Professor Murugan Ramalingam from Dankook University in South Korea. President Zhao Shengtian attended the appointment ceremony and presented the appointment letter.
Prior to the appointment ceremony, President Zhao Shengtian first introduced Professor Murugan Ramalingam to the basic situation of BMU, its development plans, target positioning, and current research status. They engaged in in-depth discussions on international project cooperation between BMU and Professor Murugan Ramalingam's team, talent development, and the current status and future prospects of the health industry.
Professor Murugan Ramalingam expressed his honor to be appointed as a guest professor at BMU. He presented his scientific research and achievements over the past three years, which were conducted in collaboration with Professor Xie Shuyang and Professor Wang Ranran. He expressed his intention to deepen the existing collaboration and explore further opportunities for cooperation. Additionally, he shared his vision for establishing an international joint laboratory and initiating international collaborative projects. He expressed his commitment to making significant contributions to the development of BMU in the future.

After the appointment ceremony, Professor Murugan Ramalingam delivered an academic presentation titled Bioprinting and A Vascularized Approach of Tissue Engineering.
Leaders of the Human Resources Department, International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, School of Basic Medical Sciences, and School of Rehabilitation Medicine attended the appointment ceremony.
Professor Murugan Ramalingam is a professor at Dankook University in South Korea and a distinguished foreign expert at Chengdu University. He has worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biomaterials from the CSIR Central Leather Research Institute at the University of Madras. He has published 375 publications and currently has an h-index of 45 with over 13,500 citations. Currently, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journals Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology and Journal of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. He has also been recognized as one of the top 2% scientists in the world.
