From May 6 to 7, the 2023 Shandong Provincial College Student Medical Technology Skills Competition, hosted by the Department of Education of Shandong Province and the Health Commission of Shandong Province, and organized by Qingdao University, was successfully held in Qingdao. A total of 101 teams representing 18 provincial universities and 1 university from outside the province participated in the competition, with a total of 435 contestants.
The Clinical Medicine Track A team selected and dispatched by our university is awarded the Gold Medal for University Group in the competition.
The Stomatology Track A team selected and dispatched by our university is awarded the Gold Medal for University Group in the competition.
Led by Vice President Bai Xianyong, BMU selected and dispatched 12 representative teams with a total of 52 students to participate in all six tracks of the competition. During the competition, the participants actively engaged in critical thinking, remained calm under pressure, worked together in unity, and made tremendous efforts. They fully demonstrated the profound theoretical knowledge, skilled practical abilities, exceptional emergency handling skills, stable psychological resilience, and excellent teamwork of BMU students. As a result, they achieved remarkable results in both their performance and ethical conduct, achieving a double harvest in the competition.

After intense competition, our university won 2 gold medals in the university group category. The student teams received 4 special awards and excellent instructor team awards each. They also won 3 first-place awards and 3 second-place awards in the team category. Additionally, individuals from our university received gold medals in their respective events, achieving first place in the competition. Our university ranked among the top in similar colleges within the province.
The Shandong Provincial College Student Medical Technology and Skills Competition is a high-level medical education event with Shandong characteristics. It adheres to the principles of emphasizing medical ethics and medical skills, integrating both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, promoting collaboration between medicine and nursing, and integrating clinical medicine with public health. The competition consists of six professional tracks: clinical medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, stomatology, traditional Chinese medicine, and pharmacy. In order to ensure outstanding performance in this competition, the university attached great importance to it and brought together various resources to provide comprehensive support for the participants. Each participating school conducted theoretical and skills training for all graduating students. Seed players were selected, and excellent teachers were chosen to provide them with intensive training to enhance their capabilities. By participating in the competition, it greatly promotes the medical students' self-learning ability and comprehensive practical skills, highlights their innovative consciousness and team spirit, and contributes to the cultivation of a positive academic atmosphere and a strong practical environment.
