In recent days, the specialty construction of Binzhou Medical University Hospital bore another fruit: Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Binzhou Medical University was approved as the National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Project, which was another major event since the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine has become the Hospital's first National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Project in 2022. Up to now, Binzhou Medical University Hospital has 2 National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Projects, 22 provincial key clinical specialties, 3 provincial clinical characteristic specialties, 2 provincial key traditional Chinese medicine specialties, 1 provincial specialty of maternal health care and 6 provincial sub-centers of clinical medical research center.
Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Binzhou Medical University has been awardedtheExcellent Unit of Tertiary Hospitalreviewed by the National Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM),a PCCM national specialized training base, andtheExcellent Unitfor the Construction of National Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment Center for Interstitial Lung Disease. The Department has an excellent medical and nursing teamwith8 chief physicians, 3 doctoral supervisors and 12 mastersupervisors, of which 3 were granted the special government allowance from the State Council, and 12 won national awards such as National Advanced Worker. In recent years, theDepartment has presided over 14 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China,published 122 SCI papers with total impact factor of 416 points, and won 8 scientific research awards at ministerial and provincial-level. It has also been listed among the top 100in the National Academic Ranking of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine for consecutive years.
The National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Project is a specialty capacity construction projectcarried out with high standards and standardized procedures. Its scope is the clinical specialties with high technical level or potential in tertiary hospitals. And its goal is to promote the capacity construction of clinical specialty, innovative research in clinical technologyand the transformation of achievements, and to improve the capacity of clinical specialty service.
The national key clinical specialty is the symbol of the hospital brand and thereflectionof the hospital's core competitiveness. The approval of National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Projectis bothanaffirmation of the academic status of the specialty, but also an important opportunity to promote thespecialty’sfurther development. The Hospital's 14th Five-Year Plan has put forward new goals and requirements for the specialty construction in the new period. In the next step, the Hospital willimprove the internal management system,health care quality system, talent construction system, scientific research and innovation system, and the information application systemtofurther consolidate and develop the construction achievements of clinical specialty,increase the capacity of comprehensive service of the Hospital,promote the high-quality development of the Hospital, and make new contributions to the cause of people's health.
