Years have passed, and former classmates have gathered with happiness. On June 17, the founding meeting of of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi) was held in Nanning, Guangxi Province. The meeting took the form of both on-site meeting and live streaming. Vice President Lyu Changjun attended the meeting. Alumni from Guangxi's medical and healthcare industry and enterprises gathered to appreciate this beautiful moment together.
After the election, Zhang Weiming from Wuming Hospital of Guangxi Medical University was elected as the President of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi); Professor Shi Shengliang from Guangxi Medical University was elected as the Honorary President of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi); Wang Daogang from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine was elected as the Executive Vice President of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi); Li Xisheng from the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and other 15 alumni were elected as Vice Presidents of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi); Li Zhao, a lecturer at Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities was elected as the Secretary General of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi); Liang Juan and 6 other alumni from Liuzhou Liujiang District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were elected as the Deputy Secretary General of BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi).

Lyu Changjun firstly introduced the recent development of the University. He pointed out that the University attaches great importance to alumni-related work, and has been committed to building a new pattern of it, making innovations in the mode of alumni-related work, establishing a variety of alumni contact and communication channels, and cultivating alumni culture, so as to enhance the University’s soft power. The establishment of this alumni association has vividly demonstrated the cohesiveness of all Guangxi alumni. He hoped that the BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi) would set up “The Home of Alumni”, build a bridge of connection, act as a booster, and work together to write a new chapter of common prosperity and brilliance between the alma mater and alumni in the new era.

Zhang Weiming, the newly elected President of the Alumni Association, delivered a speech at the meeting. He said that although the BMU Alumni Association (Guangxi) are of different ages, specialties and jobs, the identity of Guangxi alumni connects them together. The establishment of the Alumni Association not only provides a platform for close communication and cooperation among alumni, but more importantly, builds a bridge between alumni and their alma mater. In the future, he would do his best to promote exchanges and cooperation among Guangxi alumni, expand the influence of his alma mater, and contribute to the development of the University.
