BMU Held the 2023 Teaching Skills Workshop

From May 22 to 25, the University has held the 2023 Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW). Wang Guangcheng, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, attended the graduation ceremony and issued the certificates of completion to the trainees. Pang Yucheng, Director of the Human Resources Department and the Teacher Work Department, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. A total of 35 people participated in the workshop including new teachers, some young and middle-aged backbone teachers, clinical teachers, and Instructional supervisors.

At the closing ceremony, Wang Guangcheng fully affirmed the careful organization of the Teacher Development Center and the team of internal trainers, congratulated all the participating teachers, and encouraged everyone to continue to learn and improve their teaching skills to form a teaching style suitable for themselves. He said the workshop training is high-level, effective and targeted, and hoped that the participating teachers can strictly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, continuously consolidate the central position of education and teaching, adhere to the integration of theory and practice, and make positive contributions to the sound and rapid development of various undertakings in the University.

Training of Instructional Skills Workshop

This workshop was organized and implemented by the University Teacher Development Center, co-taught by the team of internal trainers in the Teacher Development Center and the trainers of Naval Aviation University. During the three-and-a-half days of 28-hour training, the trainees completed 3 teaching designs, 3 micro demo lessons, 12 times feedback of learners’ perception, 3 times one-on-one feedback and a series of team activities. The workshop was carried out in the form of a combination of lectures, group learning and simulation exercises, with the organic integration of BOPPPS theory and practice in teaching. A teacher learning community was created, and a good situation of close communication and peer motivation among teachers was formed. At the closing ceremony, representatives of each group of trainees spoke in turn and shared their insights. The trainees said that through the workshop, they further understood the teaching principles and improved their teaching ability.

 

The 2023 Instructional Skills Workshop has achieved good results in enhancing the teaching and educating ability of young teachers, improving job adaptability, and increasing the internal driving force of teachers’ professional development. As a characteristic and influential brand activity of teacher development, BMU will continue to focus on teaching, adhere to the Four Regressions, and promote the high-quality development of the University with the improvement of teachers' teaching ability.
