Recently, Clarivate Analytics announced the latest data. The discipline of Chemistry of BMU entered 1% in ESI ranking, and became the third discipline entering 1% in ESI ranking after Clinical Medicine, and Pharmacology and Toxicology, which was a new breakthrough in the discipline construction of Binzhou Medical University.
Chemistry was the basic discipline and one of the earliest disciplines established in BMU. In the discipline of Chemistry, the development model was led by scientific research and driven by teaching; the frontier and hot issues in the international chemistry field was paid attention to; its own characteristics were formed centering around disciplines of Medical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Medicinal Chemistry; and distinctive research directions were formed such as fluorescent nano-sensing, medical polymer functional materials, drug molecule design and green synthesis under the leadership of high-level talents. The discipline of Chemistry was a good example of integration of production and education and integration of science and education. The university has successively cooperated with universities and research institutes such as Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Shandong University, and Shandong Normal University to promote the cluster development of disciplines such as Medical Engineering, Medical Science and New Medicine, providing important support for the development of disciplines such as Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Biology and Medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Through construction, the connotation of the discipline was improved and the layout was more complete. Up to now, two provincial high-level disciplines and four disciplines were included into the top 50% of the best discipline ranking of ARWU; two disciplines entered the top 50% of the GDI College First-Class Discipline Ranking List; two disciplines were approved as the national key clinical specialties; and Binzhou Medical University was listed as category A universities by Shanghai Ranking.
