In order to effectively enhance the understanding of Chinese traditional culture among international students in China and promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and international students, on June 21, the School of International Studies held a series of cultural experience activities for international students.
In the morning, the college organized 7 international students to go to the High-tech Zone to participate in the Dragon Boat Festival activity. During the activity, international students learned about the history and cultural connotation of the Dragon Boat Festival, experienced the custom of making rice dumplings and sewing sachets, and felt the festive atmosphere of community residents celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival up close.
In the afternoon, the college held a cultural experience activity for all international students. One of international student counselors introduced the origin and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival to international students in both Chinese and English, enlivened the atmosphere through the culture knowledge quiz, and guided the skills of making rice dumplings and weaving five-color strands on the spot. The international students were actively participated and felt the charm of Chinese traditional festivals. A reporter from Laishan District TV Station attended the interview. School leaders and counselors participated in the event.
The Dragon Boat Festival cultural experience activity enriches the campus cultural life of international students and is conducive to improving the enthusiasm of international students to learn Chinese and increasing their emotional identification with Chinese traditional culture.
