Recently, the Fourth ERKN Cup Medical Laboratory Science Skills Competition for Higher Education Institutions in Six Provinces and One Municipality of East China was held at Wenzhou Medical University. The competition was sponsored by the National Inter-University Cooperation Council for Medical Laboratory Science Specialty in Higher Education Institutions. Over 240 teachers and students from over 30 higher education institutions in the six provinces and one municipality of East China participated in the competition. The team from BMU comprised Xu Qingxiu, Sui Yuqing, Zhuang Chunyu, and Zhang Xinyue, four medical laboratory science majors of the grade of 2020. The team won third place as a group and Xu Qingxiu won a gold award in the professional knowledge event.

The competition represents the highest level and the largest scale of competitions for undergraduate students of medical laboratory science in China. The competition has served as a platform for promoting the development of the medical laboratory science specialty, improving teaching performance, cultivating standard clinical laboratory skills among students, and facilitating exchange and collaboration among higher education institutions in East China.
