Recently, the Health Commission of Shandong Province released the List of Key Disciplines and Key Labs (Host Institutions) of Medical and Health Sciences of Shandong Province for 2023. The Oral Medicine led by Professor Gao Yuguang from Binzhou Medical University Hospital and the Sports Medicine led by Director Xu Lin from Yantai Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou Medical University (BMU) were approved as key medical and health disciplines of the province for 2023. The Shandong Provincial Key Lab of Medical and Health Sciences for Lung Injury and Repair led by Professor Song Xiaodong and the Shandong Provincial Key Lab of Medical and Health Sciences for Respiratory Infection and Tumor Immunity led by Professor Li Zunling from BMU were approved as key labs of medical and health sciences of the province for 2023.
Key disciplines and key labs of medical and health sciences of Shandong Province are designated by the Health Commission of Shandong Province to enhance the comprehensive strengths of medical and health scientific research platforms and promote the sustainable development of the medical and health science and technology sector across the province. They are an important part of the province's health science and technology innovation system. This year, the candidates were first selected and recommended by cities and organizations based in the province. By following the principle of selecting the best from the good and putting quality before quantity, the Health Commission of Shandong Province organized experts to conduct formal review and evaluation and 53 key disciplines and 31 key labs of medical and health sciences of the province were finally approved.
