On October 20, the inaugural Jiaodong Medical and Pharmaceutical Doctoral Forum of Binzhou Medical University for 2024 was successfully convened in the lecture hall on the sixth floor of the library and administrative building. As a flagship project for talent attraction and aggregation, this forum, under the theme Medical Journey Across Mountains and Seas, Intelligently Embracing the Future, aims to entice talents to root themselves in Shandong and contribute to the construction of Binzhou Medical University. Tian Geng, CPC BMU Party Committee member and Vice President, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an address. The unveiling ceremony of "Talent Introduction Workstation of Yantai"
In her address, Tian Geng extended a warm welcome to the young friends, experts, scholars, and guests from home and abroad, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leaders and friends who have shown concern and support for the university's development. She provided an overview of Binzhou Medical University, noting that in recent years, the university has seized the opportunity presented by deepening the reform of education evaluation in the new era and advancing the reform of talent evaluation mechanisms by classification. With a steadfast focus on the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and closely aligning with the new demands of national medical higher education and the emerging landscape of provincial medical higher education, the university has profoundly implemented the strategy of strengthening the university through talents. It has promoted the 1+3+3 human resources and talent work system, reinforced the dual-track, three-coordination, four-tier teaching ability cultivation system, and concentrated efforts on forging a new-era talent formation pattern characterized by leading faculty guiding, strong faculty driving, young faculty supporting. This provides robust talent support and intellectual assurance for the comprehensive construction of a high-level medical university. She emphasized that the university will persistently foster an atmosphere of respecting, valuing, cherishing, and effectively utilizing talents, enabling various talents to find their proper place and fully exhibit their strengths. She sincerely invites all young talents to join Binzhou Medical University.
Opening ceremony
During the opening ceremony, Tian Geng and Liu Jingtao, Deputy Director of the Yantai Public Employment and Talent Service Center, jointly unveiled the Yantai Talent Attraction and Intelligence Introduction Workstation; Liu Zhiqiang, Section Chief of the Second Talent Work Division of the Organization Department of the Yantai Municipal Party Committee, delivered a presentation on Yantai's talent policies; the Human Resources Department introduced the talent policies of Shandong Province and the university; the Science and Technology Department presented the university's scientific research environment; Professor Chen Xiangjun, a representative of high-level talents at Binzhou Medical University, delivered a speech; and Shandong Province Taishan Scholar Distinguished Professor Feng Xiaoming gave an academic report.
Following the opening ceremony, the young scholars toured the university's history museum, the Medical Research Center, and the research platforms of various colleges. In the sub-forums held by each college, deans introduced the construction of disciplines and specialties, disciplinary development plans during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, faculty development plans, and innovation platform construction. The invited young scholars presented academic reports.
Leaders of relevant departments and schools made introductions
This forum constitutes a significant initiative in the university's implementation of the strengthening the university through talents strategy. The university will persist in a problem-oriented approach, reinforce the mechanism of attracting, cultivating, utilizing, and serving talents, intensify efforts in talent attraction and cultivation, fully activate talent vitality, and fully harness the role of the forum platform. By widely recruiting talents globally, we aim to forge a new, higher-level talent aggregation highland, thereby contributing to accelerating the university's high-quality, connotative development.
The forum was convened through both on-site participation and online live streaming, attracting over 500 scholars from domestic and international locales. Principal leaders and talent work specialists from relevant departments and colleges participated in the forum.
