BMU held 2024 Opening Ceremony and Scholarship Award Ceremony for the Sino-Germany joint education program in Rehabilitation Therapy

On November 22nd, the Opening Ceremony for the 2024 freshmen and Scholarship Award Ceremony of the Sino-Germany joint education program in Rehabilitation Therapy was conducted in the sixth-floor conference hall of the office building. Member of CPC BMU Committee and Vice President Xie Shuyang, along with Professor Amadeus Werner, Vice President of German University of Health and Sports(DGHS), attended and delivered addresses.

Vice President Xie, representing BMU, commended the substantial achievements in talent cultivation, academic exchange, and cultural interaction by two years of Sino-German cooperation. He expressed his aspiration for both institutions to integrate their respective advantages, focusing on education and instruction while developing comprehensive cooperation in teaching, disciplinary construction, and technological innovation. The goal is to cultivate more high-caliber rehabilitation professionals with international perspective and jointly establish premium international cooperative programs, continuously elevating bilateral collaboration to new heights. He earnestly advised students to maintain practical dedication, diligent study, innovative spirit, and pursuit of excellence, transforming dreams through perseverance and nurturing the future through industrious effort. Ultimately develop into internationalized rehabilitation professionals for the new era and make appropriate contributions to the advancement of rehabilitation education in both nations.

 

Professor Werner emphasized that the Sino-Germany joint education program in Rehabilitation Therapy represents a milestone in educational exchange between the two institutions and exemplifies the friendly cooperative relationship between China and Germany in education. He indicated that the German University of Health and Sports would develop high-level, well-matched graduate programs for students, further expanding their international career prospects and enhancing the internationalization of professional skills education to better facilitate students' growth and success.

 

During the ceremony, leadership from both institutions presented certificates to recipients of the Sino-German Joint Scholarship. Li Yutong, representing the 2024 freshmen, and Wang Zirui, representing 2023 scholarship recipients, delivered speeches.

 

In the orientation session, Professor Werner introduced the educational philosophy, campus environment, and network resource utilization of the German University of Health and Sports. He provided detailed explanations regarding examination platform usage, online course registration, study abroad procedures in Germany, and employment requirements, offering guidance on future academic planning for new students through practical examples.

 

The ceremony was attended by over 150 participants, including program administrators, faculty representatives, 2024 incoming students, and scholarship recipients.
