Binzhou Medical University (BMU) is a public provincial university of applied sciences and a distinctive application-oriented talent training university, co-constructed by Shandong Provincial Education Department and local municipal governments. It has been granted the approval to be a doctoral degree-conferring institute by Shandong Province. Currently, BMU has combined multiple disciplines of medicine, science, engineering, management and education, with medical disciplines being its advantage and higher education for the disabled and rehabilitation medicine being its features.
1. Graduate Programs
The majors offered for enrollment are in the field of medicine and related disciplines, with master's degrees conferred.
2. Study period
The normal period of study for each program is 3 years.
3. Application Prerequisites
Foreign citizens applying to study at Binzhou Medical University must have reliable financial guarantees and sponsors, and commit to abiding by the Constitution and laws of China as well as the university's rules and regulations during their study in China, based on their own wishes to study at our university.
Applicants must meet all the following requirements:
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
(2) Applicants should be healthy, both physically and psychologically.
(3) Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in medicine or a related field from a university/college accredited by the Ministry of Education of China, and the age limit for applicants is not exceeding 35 years old.
(4) Applicants must have excellent academic performance during their undergraduate studies and have recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors.
4. Graduation and Degree Awarding
Students who have completed all the requirements stipulated in the academic plan, met the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Education in terms of the Chinese Language Proficiency Scales For Speakers of Other Languages, published at least one paper related to their major in a formal journal in Chinese or English, and passed the Master's thesis defense are permitted to graduate.
5. Application Method

6. Tuition and Fee Schedule (in RMB)
(1) Application fee: 400 RMB per person per application.
(2) Tuition: 30,000 RMB per year.
(3) Accommodation fee: 6,000 RMB per person per academic year (for a double room) (water, electricity, and internet fees are charged separately).
(4) Insurance fee: 800 RMB per person per academic year.
Note:
(1) The application fee is non-refundable regardless of whether the applicant is admitted or not.
(2) If there are changes in the accommodation conditions, the accommodation fee will be adjusted accordingly. Accommodation conditions: Each dormitory room is equipped with air conditioning, air-source heat pump for bathing, study desks and chairs, wardrobes, curtains, single beds, mattresses, bedside tables, and network interfaces, and has an independent bathroom. The dormitory building is equipped with a duty room, public kitchen, laundry room, activity room, bulletin board, water and electricity facilities, fire extinguishing facilities, etc.
7. Scholarships
The university has established scholarships to reward international students with excellent moral character and academic performance (excluding students in the graduating year).
8.Application Materials
(1) The Binzhou Medical University Application Form for International Students (Attachment 1) signed by the applicant and the guarantor.
(2) Notarized bachelor's degree certificate. For documents not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be attached. Applicants expected to graduate in 2025 must provide an official letter from their current university stating their expected graduation date.
(3) Official transcripts of the applicant's academic achievement, including courses taken and standards achieved. For documents not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be attached.
(4) A scanned copy of the passport with at least 18 months of validity and one passport-sized photo.
(5) Guarantor's letter of guarantee for matters in China, guarantor's ID or passport scanned copy, and contact information of the guarantor.
(6) A copy of the application fee payment receipt.
(7) Curriculum Vitae (Personal Resume).
(8) Certificate of No Criminal Record.
(9) Foreigner’s Physical Examination Form. Applicants must strictly follow the items required in the Foreigner’s Physical Examination Form. Forms with missing items, without a photo, without a seal on the photo, or without the signature and seal of the physician and hospital are considered invalid. Given that the validity period of the physical examination results is six months, applicants should arrange the physical examination time reasonably.
(10) Applicants who graduated before 2025 should provide a work certificate and a recommendation letter.
(11) Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency, such as an IELTS Academic score (not less than 6.0, with no individual score less than 5.0) or a TOEFL score (not less than 70 in the internet-based test, with no individual score less than 15) or other equivalent English proficiency test results.
(12) Other supporting documents (such as award certificates, HSK level certificates, etc.).
Note: The above-mentioned materials should be submitted in scanned electronic versions during the initial application. The original documents should be submitted upon enrollment. Applicants must ensure the authenticity of all materials. If any false information is found, the application will not be accepted, and all responsibilities will be borne by the applicants.
9. Application Procedures
(1) Online Application. Applicants must complete the application through the online application system and upload the required attachments.
(2) Preliminary Review by the University. The university will conduct a preliminary review of the application materials and provide feedback.
(3) Interview. Applicants who pass the preliminary review will be invited to participate in an interview organized by the university. Those who pass the interview will receive an electronic preliminary admission notice.
(4) Payment of Accommodation Fee. The pre-admitted candidates must pay (remit) the first-year accommodation fee to Binzhou Medical University within 14 days of receiving the electronic preliminary admission notice and upload a scanned copy of the payment (remittance) receipt to the application system.
(5) Mailing of Admission Notice and Enrollment Materials. After confirming the receipt of the remittance, the university will send the admitted student a paper version of the Binzhou Medical University Admission Notice and an electronic version of the Application Form for Study Visa for Foreign Students (JW202 form). The admitted student should use the Binzhou Medical University Admission Notice and the JW202 form to apply for a Chinese study visa (X1 visa) at the Chinese embassy (consulate) in their home country. The admitted student must register and enroll within the specified time. Those who fail to do so without a valid reason will have their admission qualifications canceled.
