Stephen Lee Gerdes, the chairman of Omaha Sister Cities Association of USA, visited BMU

On the afternoon of January 6, Stephen Lee Gerdes, the chairman of Sister Cities Association of Omaha USA, visited BMU. Xie Shuyang, vice president of BMU, met with the delegation.

Xie Shuyang warmly welcomed Mr. Gerdes and briefly introduced the university's history and overall profile. He noted that the relationship of Sister Cities between Omaha and Yantai provides a solid foundation for cooperation between two universities. Creighton University and the Medical Center of Nebraska University, located in Omaha, have high compatibility with BMU in fields, such as medicine, pharmacy, nursing, special education and public health, offering broad prospects for cooperation. Xie expressed hope that Mr. Gerdes would assist in promoting collaboration between Omaha-based institutions and BMU, aligning their strengths and needs to achieve win-win cooperation.

 

Stephen Lee Gerdes stated that medical institutions in Omaha are world-leading in scientific research. As the chairman of the Omaha Sister Cities Association, he is willing to work with association members to deepen exchanges between Omaha's medical institutions and BMU in various fields, establishing long-term, stable, and friendly cooperative relationships. He aims to enhance mutual understanding between Chinese and American youth and contribute to Sino-American cultural exchanges.

 

After the meeting, Stephen Lee Gerdes visited BMU history museum and medical research center.
