On November 23rd, our university, in collaboration with the Laishan District Culture and Tourism Bureau and the Cultural Center of Yantai City, jointly organized the Taste Chinese Culture, Listen to Ethnic Voices traditional culture experience activity for international students in Yantai.

The event included performances such as Sichuan Opera face-changing, horse-head fiddle performance, Mongolian dance, and a hands-on tie-dye workshop. During the mesmerizing Sichuan Opera face-changing performance, the actors swiftly switched between red and white masks, expressing joy and sorrow almost magically, allowing the international students to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture. The horsehead fiddle performance and Mongolian dance made the audience feel as though they were on the vast grasslands of Inner Mongolia, experiencing ethnic customs and the beauty of nature, which earned rounds of applause. In the subsequent tie-dye class, after listening to the instructions, the international students unleashed their creativity, producing one unique piece after another, enabling them to appreciate the charm of this intangible cultural heritage through hands-on engagement.

In recent years, the university has placed great emphasis on enhancing the cross-cultural communication skills of international students. It actively carries out diverse cultural experience activities aimed at helping them better understand traditional Chinese culture, immerse themselves in its depth and spiritual essence, and continuously foster a sense of identification with Chinese culture.
