School of International Studies Organizes Visit to Life and Health Science Museum for New International Students

2025-06-19

On June 18th, the School of International Studies arranged for all incoming spring 2025 international students to visit the Life and Health Science Museum at our university. Sinkemani Arjun, a foreign faculty member from the Department of Human Anatomy at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, served as the docent.

In front of the sculpture of Professor Wang Huxiang, the first director of the Department of Human Anatomy, Arjun introduced the inspiring life story of Professor Wang. The international students were deeply moved upon learning that Professor Wang had pledged in his will to donate his body to the university. Subsequently, led by Arjun, the students toured the museum’s lobby, preface hall, and various exhibition areas organized by organ-system themes. They viewed human anatomical specimens, pathological specimens, and research achievements of past students and faculty at Binzhou Medical University, gaining a systematic understanding of human anatomy and the evolution of medical research. The students expressed that these precious specimens not only provided an intuitive grasp of medical knowledge but also allowed them to appreciate the university’s profound academic heritage.

The Life and Health Science Museum is a key teaching and research base at our university, featuring collections and materials accumulated over more than seven decades and 18 thematic exhibition zones. As an essential component of freshman orientation, this activity aimed to enhance the international students’ understanding of the medical field and stimulate their interest in medical studies through immersive learning and experience. Moving forward, the school will continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths to organize diverse cultural exchanges and academic activities, supporting the growth and success of international students.
