From August 16th to 17th, BMU successfully hosted the 2025 International Conference on Immunity, Traditional Medicine and Precision Medicine for Serious Chronic Diseases. Wang Shuguang, Member of the BMU Party Committee and Vice President, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Wang Shuguang extended a warm welcome to the leaders, distinguished scholars, and medical elites who attended the conference. He introduced BMU’s general information and its achievements in educational reform and discipline construction in recent years. He pointed out that the conference centered on the theme of “Precision Medicine for Serious Chronic Diseases”, aiming to establish an international collaborative innovation platform. He expected that experts could promote high-quality development in medicine and provide global prevention and control of serious chronic diseases with Chinese solutions through exchange of ideas.

Some professors delivered keynote speeches in the main venue. They were Prof. Yao Zhi from Tianjin Medical University, Prof. Zhang Yu from Peking University, Prof. Alexander Teumer from the University of Greifswald, Prof. Wen Li from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Prof. Wang Cun from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Cai Zhigang from Tianjin Medical University, Prof. Fu Cainian from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Prof. Michael Linnebacher from the University of Rostock, Prof. Zhang Xinxin from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhao Tiancong from Fudan University, Prof. Liu Zhanju from Tongji University, and Prof. Li Zunling from Binzhou Medical University. Their speeches centered on the immunological mechanism and applied research of serious chronic diseases, precision intervention for susceptibility genes, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment. Prof. Liang Xiaohong from Shandong University and some scholars delivered keynote speeches at Sub-venue 1 on the immunological mechanism and precision diagnosis/treatment of serious chronic diseases. Prof. Liu Xiaofei from the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and some scholars delivered keynote speeches at Sub-venue 2 on foundational research and clinical practice of traditional medicine and precision medicine technologies in diagnosing and treating severe chronic diseases, demonstrating the cutting-edge development from the clinical frontlines. The conference set up a graduate student forum where Dr. Wang Mengyang from Shandong University and some graduate students delivered speeches on the immunological and molecular biological mechanism of serious chronic diseases and dominant diseases of TCM. The conference also held an activity of academic poster evaluation, selecting 8 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 53 honorable mentions, with commendations and prizes presented to the winners.

Over 120 experts, teachers, and graduate students from more than 20 medical institutions worldwide, including the University of Greifswald, the University of Rostock, Peking University, and Fudan University, registered for the conference.
