Southern Cross University Vice President Thomas Roche Visits BMU

On the morning of March 5, Professor Thomas Roche and Professor Damon Ferris, Vice Presidents of Southern Cross University in Australia, visited BMU for an inspection. Vice President Tian Geng met with the visiting guests and held discussions.

Tian Geng, on behalf of BMU, warmly welcomed Professor Roche and his delegation and briefly introduced BMU's history, educational characteristics, and achievements in discipline development, scientific research, and social services in recent years. She stated that BMU consistently adheres to an open-door philosophy in education and places high importance on international exchange and cooperation. Particularly in cutting-edge fields such as bio-medicine and medical laboratory science, the university aims to further expand its international perspective and introduce high-quality educational resources and scientific research collaboration platforms. She hoped to establish a regular communication mechanism with Southern Cross University, taking this visit as an opportunity to promote substantive cooperation in areas such as joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and talent cultivation.

 

Professor Roche thanked BMU for warm reception and highly praised its contributions to medical education and healthcare services. He introduced the history, disciplinary strengths, and internationalization strategy of Southern Cross University, highlighting its outstanding achievements in fields such as health sciences, marine biology, and environmental science, as well as its extensive experience in biotechnology applications and translational medicine research. Professor Ferris offered constructive suggestions regarding specific pathways for collaboration between the two institutions, hoping to deepen cooperation and jointly promote the establishment of joint educational programs in relevant disciplines.

 

During the visit, Professor Roche and his delegation toured BMU's History Museum, School of Pharmacy, and School of Special Education and Rehabilitation.
